About Green Chemicals Consortium
Welcome to Green Chemicals Consortium, a forward-thinking enterprise nestled within the Western Cape of South Africa. Our core mission revolves around the establishment of a state-of-the-art Chlor-alkali plant in the Western Cape, alongside our unwavering commitment to securing essential funding for this groundbreaking initiative. The Green Chemicals Consortium, is driven to deliver locally manufactured Chlor-alkali products within the Western Cape resulting in the environmental impact of logistics chain being minimized. We firmly believe in the power of responsible and sustainable manufacturing practices that not only enhance our business but also safeguard our planet's delicate ecosystems. Our dedicated team stands at the forefront of innovation, continuously striving to develop groundbreaking solutions that uphold our competitive edge while remaining environmentally conscious.
The traditional transportation process, involving the shipment of salt from Walvis Bay to Richards Bay and further transport from Richards Bay to Johannesburg is environmentally unfriendly and creates a large amount of CO2. Further the ability to utilize the brine discharge from the desalination plants is a major step in mitigating the environmental impact of the brine discharge into the ocean which can disrupt marine ecosystems, posing threats to aquatic life and coastal habitats. Hence, we are committed to revolutionizing this process, implementing eco-friendly alternatives that mitigate these risks and promote sustainability.
Our operations center around the Western Cape, where we responsibly source and process brine into essential chemicals such as Caustic Soda, Chlorine, and Hydrogen. By keeping our production cycle localized, we minimize environmental footprint and maximize efficiency. The Green Chemicals Consortium is unwavering in its dedication to producing Chlor-alkali products using sustainable and eco-friendly methodologies.
